This compendium of programs develops and tests students' understanding of the order of integers, decimals and fractions.
The program has 3 separate components: Number Ladder, Find the Number and Number Line
Number Ladder Features
The user must place randomly generated decimals in the correct order.
The numbers are placed on a "ladder" after which they may not be moved, regardless of subsequently generated numbers.
The objective is to complete the task with the smallest quantity of numbers having to be "rejected" due to no space being available in the right places on the ladder.
The numbers may have from 0 to 3 decimal places.
Find The Number Features
The user must locate and identify a number to a given degree of accuracy. The user can zoom-in on the number line that it is presented upon.
The user has complete control over the length of the original, starting view of the number line as well as the accuracy of the randomly generated target number (0 to 3 decimal places).
At each stage of zooming-in, the user can opt to have their understanding checked of where they are on the number line.
Number Line Features
The user is presented with a number line with at least two values marked upon it. They must correctly deduce the value of a separately marked number elsewhere on the line.
The line may be labelled with either Integers, Decimals or Fractions.
There are a total of 160 different number lines generating many more distinct challenge questions.
