Diagrams trains students to draw very accurate scale drawings when solving a multitude of spatial problems that are presented to them as text-only.
The program’s main feature is its unique animated step-by-step worked solutions that students can access to help them draw the correct diagram.
It provides a highly motivating environment for students of all abilities as they seek to obtain the most accurate answer, rather than just being the first to finish.
Features
Unique step-by-step solutions are created for each problem, which outline each stage of the construction of the diagram.
12 types of problems are generated that include simple squares, rectangles and rhombuses, angles of elevation and depression, bearings and compass-and-ruler triangle constructions. Watch the demonstration video above to view all them.
Many of the problems can also be solved using Pythagoras’ Theorem or Trigonometry
The calculation of both the perimeter and the area of triangles can be tested.
The accuracy of the user’s answer is compared against the exact answer. Allowance for error tolerances is made before a final score is awarded. This actively drives the user to improve the care and attention that they invest in their drawings.
Full teacher notes include suggested uses in lessons.
